Underwater Photography course on board Taka Dive
Taka Dive run 4 and 5 day liveaboard trips to the Cod Hole and Coral Sea, leaving from Cairns every Tuesday and Friday. Every trip visits the Cod Hole and the Ribbon Reefs in the northern part of the Great Barrier Reef. The Cod Hole is famous for giant Potato Cod, fish that are larger than the average diver! Here we do a Cod feed where you get to see (and photograph) the giant Potato Cod up close and personal. The 5 day trip also visits Osprey Reef, an isolated sea mount with 1000m drop-offs, large pelatics and +50m visibility on a regular basis. This is also the location of a shark feed, regularly attracting up to 30 Grey reef sharks, White tip reef sharks and the occassional 3m Silvertip. A great opportunity to practise your underwater photography and videography.
We have a Photo and Video Pro on every Taka Dive trip. Each trip they run a Photo 101 course for anyone who wants to improve their underwater photography skills. The course can be completely tailored to suit your current level, so it doesn't matter whether you're an absolute beginner or have been doing it for a while and just want to improve your results. If you hire one of our cameras for the duration of a trip, then you get the Photo 101 course absolutely free!
We also run a more detailed, tailored-made Scubapix DSLR course on Taka by request. Just let us know the dates of your Taka trip and we'll organise the rest.

If you have less time on your hands, you can book a one-on-one training day with one of our Photo Pro's on one of the day boats that go out from Cairns every day of the year.
