Vision Research's Phantom VEO4K lineup of cameras brings the option of capturing up to 938fps in 4K resolution underwater. A camera this capable deserves a housing equally powerful and customizable. The Nauticam NA-VEO4K housing supports a wide variety of options to take full advantage of the Phantom VEO4K PL/990S/590S.
NAUTICAM NA-VEO4K UNDERWATER HOUSING
The Nauticam NA-VEO4K housing offers full access to all functions on the camera while remaining the most ergonomic brand of underwater housing on the market. The housing features an electronic start/stop record lever with a mechanical backup. On location, the usability of this system is unmatched. Set up and tear down in minutes, easily swap batteries and recording media while the camera is mounted in the housing, and lens changes in seconds.
BATTERY MOUNT
To power the camera within the housing, you will need the Wooden Camera D-Box for VEO4K cameras (V-Mount). (Sold separately). The Wooden Camera D-Box also creates a unique on/off switch accessible from the housing. Our recommended battery of choice is the PAGLink PL96 or PL150. The PAGLink batteries are preferred for their small form factor and the ability to stack two together within the Nauticam housing for increased run time.
PORT MOUNT AND LENS MOUNT
The Nauticam NA-VEO4K housing supports the Canon EF mount and uses the N120 port system which allows for the use of even the largest diameter DSLR lenses such as the Canon Ultra-Wide Zoom EF 11-24mm f/4 USM. A detailed port chart can be found here.
EXTERNAL MONITOR SUPPORT
The NA-VEO4K housing supports the use of optional bulkheads to support a variety of external monitors with SDI connectivity from SmallHD, Atomos, and TVLogic. For a detailed list of compatible monitors, click here.
INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM
The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with NA-VEO4K as standard equipment. This monitoring system provides constant updates on the water tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.
The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action packed dive.
